Armstrong Gold maple grows best in full sun, but can tolerate part shade. It requires an acidic soil that is medium to wet, with good drainage. Fast growing, up to 12 m. it has compact foliage that grows into a narrow crown with dense, ascending branches with leaves that turn golden-orange in the fall. Narrow growth makes it an ideal for a street tree.
